The works started in March 2021 to replace the 7 year old non-sealed route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This now means that the 2.5KM path can be used by all non motor vehicles including wheelchairs, skateboards &amp; road bicycles at all times of the year. Despite the previous path only being 7 years old, due to its heavy usage, terrain &amp; drainage left it severely rutted and difficult for some users to use, as well as not being particularly wide resulting in a hostile environment for pedestrians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst the new path is only 2.5m wide, it does allow greater room for everyone however it doesn&#8217;t meet standards for the level of usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"New Falmer Road path\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0o0NWIpVRzY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2.5KM path running besides Falmer Road B2123 has been fully widened and resurfaced with black top.
