{"id":698,"date":"2021-12-22T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-22T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sussex-transport.net\/?p=698"},"modified":"2021-12-21T18:06:05","modified_gmt":"2021-12-21T18:06:05","slug":"southern-end-of-new-a284-in-littlehampton-has-opened","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sussex-transport.net\/index.php\/2021\/12\/22\/southern-end-of-new-a284-in-littlehampton-has-opened\/","title":{"rendered":"Southern end of new A284 in Littlehampton has opened"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Fitzaland Link Road between East Street (B2187) &amp; Worthing Road (A259) has now been opened to all traffic ahead of the opening of the Lyminster Bypass (South section) which is due to open next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new road is a 2 lane single carriageway, with shared pedestrian\/cycleways on either side with a new roundabout half way along to have access to The Littlehampton Academy. There is also a Toucan crossing where the cycleway crosses over between Cornwall Road &amp; Elm Grove Road<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The road itself isn&#8217;t yet designated as the A284, as the Lyminster Bypass (both South &amp; North sections) are not complete, with the Northern section due to start construction in March 2022 &amp; take 3 years to complete.
