In the Labour Parties’ manifesto, they stated that they would fill 1 million potholes a year which in part would be funded by deferring the A27 Arundel Bypass scheme. The Arundel bypass scheme was set to cost around £320 million which would see the last section of single carriageway removed along the coast from Bournemouth to Worthing. The bypass had been cancelled and delayed several times before including in the 90s, 00s, and the current plan was initially planned to be delivered over 5 years ago, although it’s been developed since.
Dispute the A27 not being fixed, it will be expected to deal with greater and greater levels of traffic, including the nearby Littlehampton developments & the nearly completed Lyminster Bypass.
