Consultation on a new 2km cycle track running besides the A24 was ran this summer, and on the 8th December 2021 the report detailing the responses was published. The works would involve upgrading 2km of the current narrow footway into a wider shared use pavement. The would allow a relatively safe provision for non-motorised users to travel between Findon & Findon Valley where it connects onto further shared use pavements towards the A27 & Worthing.
West Sussex County Council said that “The Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport will now consider all the findings before making a decision, which will be announced soon.”
Of the 685 responses, 50% of them were in support whilst 41% opposed. Those within Findon in general greatly supported the scheme, whilst those along Findon Valley did support the scheme, but had more objectors.
