Felpham Crossroads new Traffic Signals feature first install of new techonolgy in the UK

The traffic signal controlled crossroads in Felpham were refurbished earlier this year which included minor alterations, including new Advance Stop Lines at all the approaches and also low level cycle signals (LLCS). This alone isn’t uncommon, however this is the first set of signals in the UK to use new software provided by Telnet which allows for traffic monitoring from individual sensors.

The junction itself can be viewed live remotely via the new cameras by West Sussex County Council and have information from the sensors every 15 minutes. The LLCS also allow for an early green light for cyclists, which is the first installation of its kind within West Sussex.
