Falmer – Woodingdean path surfacing improvements works finish

The 2.5KM path running besides Falmer Road B2123 has been fully widened and resurfaced with black top. The works started in March 2021 to replace the 7 year old non-sealed route.

This now means that the 2.5KM path can be used by all non motor vehicles including wheelchairs, skateboards & road bicycles at all times of the year. Despite the previous path only being 7 years old, due to its heavy usage, terrain & drainage left it severely rutted and difficult for some users to use, as well as not being particularly wide resulting in a hostile environment for pedestrians.

Whilst the new path is only 2.5m wide, it does allow greater room for everyone however it doesn’t meet standards for the level of usage.
