Proposed changes to Hazlewick Roundabout to not be carried out by developer

A condition of the Forge Wood development in Crawley is for Hazlewick Roundabout to be signalised. Hazlewick Roundabout is a critical junction in Crawley situation on the A2011 dual carriageway, at the Northern end of the A2004 and also have Hazlewick Avenue cross over the roundabout grade separated.

Condition 46 of the Forge Wood development required improvements at this junction to be made. These improvements are mostly made up the whole roundabout becoming signalised which required some approaches and exits to be widened as well as the roundabout itself.

However the developer along with WSCC in agreement that the proposed changes will not be going ahead under the Developer. Instead £1,111,567 will be provided in addition to S106 contributions for works at the roundabout to be carried out by the Council instead.
