The Fitzaland Link Road between East Street (B2187) & Worthing Road (A259) has now been opened to all traffic ahead of the opening of the Lyminster Bypass (South section) which is due to open next year.
The new road is a 2 lane single carriageway, with shared pedestrian/cycleways on either side with a new roundabout half way along to have access to The Littlehampton Academy. There is also a Toucan crossing where the cycleway crosses over between Cornwall Road & Elm Grove Road
The road itself isn’t yet designated as the A284, as the Lyminster Bypass (both South & North sections) are not complete, with the Northern section due to start construction in March 2022 & take 3 years to complete. Upon completion of the new A284 corridor, the old corridor will be downgraded to a B class road.
