Transport for the South East – Strategic Investment Plan Overview

Between the 20th June and 12th September there is an open consultation where people are able to give their views and feedback on the draft strategic investment plan.

The plan sets out strategic objectives and schemes for the next 27 years, until 2050. Whilst it does not provide funding itself, it does budget all the schemes at a modest £45 billion, or £1.5 billion a year (in 2022 prices).

The plan is split into 24 separate packages, each package is a type of transport within an area, the actual amount of schemes is around 200. The schemes are aimed at rail, road, mass transit, active travel & ferries. Overall the aim is to provide a sustainable network, whilst also fixing highway issues at existing bottle necks as well as improving resilience throughout the network.

Information about the plans can be found here.
